The Land of the Bison and Primeval Forest Nordic Walking Park – A Walk Through the Forest (green) 5 km
A gentle and undemanding route located in the area of Hajnówka. The route crosses the narrow-gauge railway tracks twice and leads through the Władysław Szafer's Landscape Reserve. Then the route joins the green hiking trail Hajnówka - Białowieża. Landscape Reserve of Władysław Szafer, is located on both sides of the Hajnówka - Białowieża road and includes a strip of forest from 700 to 1000 m wide. The reserve presents the most important forest group of the Białowieża Forest, mainly oak-hornbeam forests and mixed forests. One can admire here trees reaching considerable sizes - oak, spruce, pine, hornbeam. The reserve is named after the well-known Polish activist of nature protection and botanist - Władysław Szafer (1896 - 1970).
The trails are clearly marked in accordance with the European standards of recreation. The starting points for the routes were located in two places: at the Water Park in Hajnówka and at the "Zwierzyniec" car park - at the road No. 689 Hajnówka - Białowieża.
