SAKI – cerkiew drewniana p.w. Św. Dymitra
SAKI - wooden church of Saint Dymitr from the end of the 18th century, expanded in 1959.
Saki is a village supposedly founded at the end of the fifteenth century. The history of the foundation of the church in the village of Saki is closely related to the wonderful icon of Saint Dmitry Sozonski. According to the local oral transmission, the first chapel, and then the church, was built in the place where a resident of one of the nearby villages woke up, previously taken into Turkish captivity. This church is most likely due to a fire that has been completely destroyed. The first documented news about the existence of the church in the village of Saki come from the late sixteenth century. According to Klirovoj Vedomosti parish from Dubicze in 1595, the church from the village of Dubicze was moved to Sak. This Orthodox church was also damaged by fire. Icon of Saint Dimitri in a miraculous way was not destroyed in both the first fire and the second church.
