ODRYNKI - Skit Św. St. Antoni and Theodosius Kijowsko-Pieczerskich is a place of seclusion

The creation of the hermitage of Saints Anthony and Teodosi Pieczerski refers to the history of the monastery of the Ascension of the Lord in the Błudowska Forest. In 1518, Prince Iwan Michałowicz Wiśniowiecki, crossing a raft across the Narew River on his way to Vilnius, saw the light in front of the icon of St. Antoni Pieczerski. Seeing this sign of God, the prince funded a chapel near the crossing over the Narew river. This event probably took place near the mouth of Olszanka to Narew, near the settlement called Kudak, overgrown with old oaks. The monastery of the Ascension of the Lord was established in the area of the former Błudowska Forest, which was in contact near the village of Odrynki with the Narewska Forest

The monastery of the Ascension of the Lord was established on the boundary between the Bludowska Forest belonging to Chodkiewicz and the land of the city of Narew. The monastery was established on the land near the present village of Odrynki. To this day, on the river Olszanka, a tributary of the Narew River, we meet the charming called Monaster i Krynoczka. The monastery was founded by the monks of the Supraska Lavra, where the cult of Saint. Antoni Pieczerski was particularly close due to his contacts with the Kiev-Kiev Pechersk Lavra. The monastery of Vozneňský was founded in the area where there were possibilities to conduct a monastic religious life. In 1786, the monastery of Voznevnia was officially included in the Vilnius archimandry and subject to the jurisdiction of the monastery of St. Spirit in Vilnius. The religious congregation in the Błudowska Forest ceased to function before the dissolution of other religious centers in Podlasie in 1824 by the decision of the Spiritual Consistory in Minsk. His belonging to the Archimandria of Vilnius was formal in the second half of the 17th century. In fact, the monastery ceased to function in the first half of the 18th century.

The location of the monastery can be easily determined and referred to the charming ŻurawlikMonastyr or Krynoczka, located near the village of Odrynki. The tradition of monastic life was still alive in the 19th century. In the former monastery until 1916, the monk lived a hermit Trofim Adamowicz Dubko. Nowadays, archimandrite Gabriel (Giba) rebuilt the monastic tradition of the Supraśl monastery from the 16th century, the tradition of monastic life on the Narew River. In the area where Prince Iwan Michałowicz Wiśniowiecki in 1518 met the wonderful icon of Antoni Pieczerski, as the then superior of the Supraśl monastery, he built a chapel, which became the beginning of a new hermitic religious community.
