HAJNÓWKA – kościół p.w. Podwyższenia Krzyża Św.
HAJNÓWKA - church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (antique organs, organ music concerts).
The building, although it is entered in the register of monuments, was created after the Second World War. It is the third parish church in history. The temple was designed by the Warsaw architect Stanisław Marzyński. The construction was started by priest Józef Moniuszko, parish priest in Hajnówka on February 23, 1946. On the other hand, on August 28, 1948, foundations were started, on November 14 of the same year, the cornerstone was laid by the priest prelate Henryk Humnicki, vicar of the Chapter of the Diocese of Pińsk. Unfortunately, the communist authorities prevented the continuation of construction works. Construction was resumed only on September 14, 1957, thanks to the efforts of priest Ignacy Wierobiej, parish priest in Hajnówka. He devoted the presbytery on September 2, 1963 and celebrated the Holy Mass for the first time. On November 27, 1965, the construction of the church was completed. On September 12, 2010, the church was consecrated by Antoni Dydycz, bishop of Drohiczyn.
